How did it start?
God told Pastor Doug, "Move to Slidell and plant a church that will reach out to My people". Pastor Doug said, "Could you tell my wife, Rachel?" But God had already taken care of Rachel's heart and she was ready when Pastor Doug arrived home with the news. They moved to Slidell with very little money but big hearts for those that need to know the Lord loves them. The first meeting was in a home living room with 7 people. God smiled and He knew Journey was born. He had a piece of land - 140 acres - waiting for their growth.
What were we thinking?
We try to think as little as possible, we just follow God. He never leads us astray.
Why do we do it?
It's simple: people matter to God. Even if they don't know it yet. So we strive to meet them in their comfort zone, with messages that deal with their everyday challenges, hopes and heartbreaks. And in ways they can relate - through movies, books, music, and drama. Because we believe God is present in all things, at all times. You just have to open your eyes.
